There is no obvious way to change the default erasure method or define a custom pattern of sector contents or number of passes, just a small number of presets with no detail on what is actually written to discs. ![]() I note that under Vista the GUI is highly reminiscent of AweEraser and Do Your Data Super Eraser, same functionality just different skins. Uncertain why the GUI fails to stay loaded under Windows 10 but at version 2.0 it should be stable by now! ![]() I was able to erase a file using default method but GUI is unusable and I have been unable to enter license key. On launching the GUI it initially loaded the GUI then after a few seconds it vanished without trace. Under Windows 10 I had it cause an error with direct disc access being blocked until I allowed it. worked as expected under Vista, was able to activate and erase files and it defaults to HMG Infosec Standard 5 method which is essentially overwriting sectors with zeros once, which is adequate and should be compatible with SSD firmware that look out for sector zeroing as an alternative to the TRIM command. ![]()
